Italy Day 2015

7 Members o NDA Interact enjoyed Italian food and watched the first half of Cinema Paradiso (the US cut).  This will hopefully become a tradition for Interact as we take in cultures from around the world via both cinema and food.

Ennio Morricone’s Score Was Well Received

Operation Rice Bowl 2015

NDA Interact helped raise awareness regarding the countries receiving aid via the 2015 Operation Rice Bowl.  Those countries include Nicaragua, Lebanon, Niger, Tanzania, and The Democratic Republic of Congo.  CRS sponsors programs to encourage sustainable economic opportunities within these and other countries.  This was the 40th anniversary of Operation Rice Bowl.  NDA Campus Ministry spearheaded the program. The NDA community raised $1003 this year to benefit CRS’ programs.

NDA Student to Intern in Brazil for Summer 2015

A Notre Dame Academy student won a highly competitive scholarship through Toyota.  She was one of two US students selected to serve as an intern for Toyota in Brazil.  She will live with a host family and be immersed in the Brazilian culture and Portuguese language while also learning valuable leadership and business lessons.

Interact Impacts: Coke Rewards Points

NDA Interact has raised over $76 since February 2015 for Notre Dame Academy through My Coke Rewards (MCR).  MCR changed its format in February 2015.  It now donates money to schools rather than offering school equipment. NDA Interact collects My Coke Rewards via bottle caps and codes found on 12/24 packs.  NDA Interact also enters these codes for Notre Dame Academy.  Also, as a reward for reaching the “silver level” (?), NDA Interact donated $1 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Interact Impacts: 2015 Chicks and Chucks Tennis Tournament

A member of NDA Interact worked for 5.5 volunteer hours for the Chicks and Chucks tennis tournament on March 21, 2015.

NDA Interact Hosts Rotarians Speaking on Youth Exchanges

NDA Interact hosted Dr. Jack Lundy of the Rotary Club of Florence and Dr. Anthony Zembrodt of the Covington Rotary Club on March 25, 2015.  This meeting explored the Youth Exchange Programs offered through Rotary International.
